Today was clean-up day for the Elko/Spring Creek area. This is an annual event where the city solicits help from the residents to help with the area's spring cleaning. Along with this event, they allow free access to the city landfill. We tried putting our old kitchen sink out for Elko Sanitation to pick up shortly after replacing it with our new one, but they wouldn't take it. It has been sitting in our back yard all winter, so I seized the opportunity to conveniently dispose of it today. Boy, was I amazed! There was a line of vehicles (mostly trucks and trailers) like I have never seen before heading into the landfill. It took me about 10 minutes to get to the dump site after turning onto the road because it was so busy. It was very organized with signs directing us to different areas according to what we needed to dispose of. They even had the boys from NYTC helping the local residents to unload, which really sped up the process for everyone. Very impressive. Thanks, Elko City for helping our back yard look better...and the rest of the town, too!

Funny to think there is traffic at the dump. Glad you were able to get things cleaned up a bit. Hooray for spring cleaning!
